Biden will honor the memory of the victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks

The President will visit all three memorials dedicated to the victims of the terrorist attack.

President Joe Biden will visit all three memorials dedicated to the victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks, which will be exactly 20 years old next Saturday. In this way, the president will honor the memory of almost 3,000 people who died that day.

Biden will visit downtown New York, the Pentagon, and the memorial located near Shanksville in Pennsylvania, where the United Flight 93 airliner hijacked by terrorists crashed. All this was reported in the White House. First Lady Jill Biden will accompany the President.

Vice President Kamala Harris, along with her husband Doug Emhoff, will attend a separate event in Shanksville and then join the president at the Pentagon, the White House said.

Biden’s route is similar to President Barack Obama’s one in 2011 on the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks. Obama’s visit to New York coincided with opening a memorial on the site where the World Trade Center towers once stood.

On Friday, Biden ordered the declassification of documents on the investigation conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation on the September 11 terrorist attacks. The families of the people who died during the terrorist attacks insisted on this in the hope that this could indicate the involvement of the Saudi authorities in the September 11 terrorist attacks.

Last month, many relatives of the victims and survivors of the terrorist attacks said they would object to Biden’s participation in memorial events if the president did not declassify investigative materials.
