Biden wants to abolish the death penalty

US President Joe Biden is in favor of abolishing the death penalty in the country and considers the moratorium announced on the eve of an important step forward, said White House spokesman Jen Psaki.

“The President made it clear … that he wants to end the executions. He is glad to see that the Attorney General is taking steps forward,” she said at a briefing.

On the eve of the US Attorney General Merrick Garland announced a moratorium on the execution of death sentences at the federal level while checking the relevant procedures of the Department of Justice.
