Biden to meet with Erdogan in Brussels

There is some tension between the two leaders.

President Joe Biden will meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during a trip to Europe this month, the White House said.

The meeting, which will take place on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Brussels on June 14, comes amid some tension between the two leaders.

Erdogan expected to be able to talk to Biden soon after he took office as president.

Later, the Turkish leader was disappointed when Biden recognized the genocide of the mass killings of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire in 1915. Ankara opposed this decision.
