Biden to announce new policy changes for Riyadh on March 1

The American president said that if Saudi Arabia wants to cooperate with the United States, it must stop violating human rights.

During a telephone conversation with Saudi King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud, US President Joe Biden said that Washington would announce significant changes in its policy towards Riyadh on March 1.

“I spoke to the king yesterday, not the Crown Prince. I clearly told him that the rules are changing, and we are going to announce significant changes on Monday, ” Biden said in an interview with the US Spanish-language TV channel Univision, answering a question about how far the US administration intends to move on the issue of pressure on Saudi Arabia. “We’re going to prosecute them for human rights violations.”

“We are going to make it so that if they want to cooperate with us, they have to go down the path to stop human rights violations. We try to [pursue] such a policy all over the world,” he said.
