Biden spoke with the leaders of Canada and Mexico

Biden and Trudeau are set to meet in February.

US President Joe Biden and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau are scheduled to meet in February. Trudeau’s office announced this after a telephone conversation between the two leaders.

Trudeau became the first foreign leader with whom Biden held a telephone conversation. According to an official report, they discussed cooperation in the field of vaccination, the exchange of medical specialists, and the uninterrupted supply of medicines and equipment. Also, Biden and Trudeau agreed to expand cooperation in defense and the Arctic.

Trudeau called Biden’s inauguration a “new era” in bilateral relations. However, the relationship began with differences regarding the Keystone XL oil pipeline from Canada to the United States, the construction of which Biden stopped with his decree.

The President of Mexico, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, announced his phone conversation with Joe Biden on Twitter. Obrador called the conversation “pleasant and respectful,” pointing out that relations between the two states will be good for the benefit of both peoples.
