Biden said that he realized himself fully as president when meeting with Putin

According to the US president, he realized who he was when he sat opposite the Russian leader. Then, as the politician noted, he felt for the first time that he was “in an administration that is the leader of the free world.”

US President Joe Biden fully realized that he is the head of the American administration when meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. He said this, speaking at a public meeting in the city of Cincinnati (Ohio). The broadcast was conducted on CNN.

“Sitting opposite Putin, I felt that he understands who I am, and I understand who he is. He knows that when I talk [about something], I can do it. For the first time I felt that I was in an administration that is the leader of the free world,” the politician admitted.

On June 16, Putin and Biden held talks in Geneva. This was their first face-to-face meeting as heads of state, as well as the first Russian-American summit since 2018. In a joint statement, the leaders stressed that the parties intend to launch a comprehensive bilateral dialogue on strategic stability, which will be substantive and energetic. In addition, Moscow and Washington plan to start consultations on cybersecurity, prisoner exchange, and arms control.
