Biden said that he had to fulfill Trump’s agreement with the Taliban

U.S. President Joe Biden said he had to fulfill the agreement that the previous administration concluded with the Taliban because the alternative was war.

“My predecessor, the former president (Donald Trump), signed an agreement with the Taliban. By the time I arrived, the Taliban was in the strongest position since 2001. We were faced with a simple choice: to leave the country or, without leaving there, to send tens of thousands more military personnel there. It was a real choice between withdrawal or continuation of the war,” Biden said.
