Biden on Sunday meets with the relatives of the military who died from the bombings in Kabul

Terrorist attacks near the Kabul airport claimed the lives of 13 American servicemen.

U.S. President Joe Biden arrived at Dover Air Base on Sunday to honor the memory of American servicemen who died due to a recent suicide attack during the evacuation of civilians from Kabul airport.

An explosion carried out by an Islamic State suicide bomber near the Kabul airport has claimed the lives of dozens of Afghans and 13 American servicemen.

According to the president’s schedule published by the White House, Biden and his wife Jill will meet with the families of servicemen killed in the explosion.

Then they will witness the removal of the remains of military personnel from the plane that arrived at the base in Delaware.

The attack, for which the Islamic State branch in Afghanistan, IS – Khorasan, claimed responsibility, was the largest incident regarding the number of victims among American service members in Afghanistan over the past ten years.

The explosion occurred at the airport gate, where thousands of people gathered to try to leave the country after the Taliban returned to power on August 15.

Biden promised to punish those responsible for organizing the explosion at the airport. On Saturday, the U.S. military said that it had killed two IS-Khorasan militants in a drone attack in Afghanistan.
