Biden on Monday announced the composition of his economic team

On Monday, President-elect Joe Biden named some individuals he plans to include in his economic team that will help him fight the pandemic’s effects.

Biden nominated Janet Yellen, the Federal Reserve’s first female chair, as Treasury Secretary. Adewale Adeyemo will become the first black Deputy Finance Minister.

The President-elect nominated Neera Tanden, Executive Director of the Center for American Progress think tank, to Head the White House Budget office.

Biden is going to appoint Cecilia Rouse, currently head of the School of international relations at Princeton University, as head of economic advisers.

Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris will also receive their first secret intelligence briefing on Monday, the first step toward handing over responsibility for key intelligence to the new administration.

On Sunday evening, the President-elect announced his public relations team’s composition, which included women exclusively.

“Communicating directly and truthfully with the American people is one of the President’s most important responsibilities, and this team will have a huge responsibility to connect the American public with the White House,” Biden said in a statement released Sunday by his transition team.
