U.S. President Joe Biden has decided to allocate $ 500 million to help refugees from Afghanistan, the White House said.

According to the memorandum signed by Biden, the text of which was distributed by the White House press service, funds in the amount not exceeding $ 500 million will be used to meet the urgent needs of refugees, victims of the conflict, and other people at risk as a result of the situation in Afghanistan.

Earlier, representatives of the Pentagon reported that three military bases on the territory of the United States (in the states of Virginia, Texas, and Wisconsin) are preparing to receive up to 22 thousand evacuated citizens of Afghanistan.
