Biden explained why the meeting with Putin lasted only 3.5 hours

US President Joe Biden said that he and Russian leader Vladimir Putin had enough time at the summit, no longer needed.

“The reason it (the summit) didn’t last longer was that when was the last time the leaders of the two countries spent more than two hours together, having a direct dialogue across the table from each other, discussing (issues) in exceptional detail? I don’t remember that,” Biden said at a press conference following talks with the Russian president.

“We didn’t need any more. We discussed a lot, ” the US president said.

“After two hours, we looked at each other and said,’ Well, OK? ‘” Biden said, stressing that the work should continue.

The meeting between Putin and Biden on Wednesday in Geneva lasted 4.5 hours, including a break. The negotiations in a narrow format lasted almost 2 hours, in an expanded format-one and a half.
