Biden called the situation with Navalny “completely unfair”

Treating doctors of the Russian opposition leader warned that the hunger strike announced by Navalny could soon lead to a cardiac arrest of the politician.

President Joe Biden called “completely unfair” the situation in which Alexei Navalny, a Russian opposition leader who is in prison, found himself, Agence France-Presse reported.

Navalny’s doctors today warned that as a result of the hunger strike announced by the politician, he faces imminent cardiac arrest.

“This is completely, completely unfair,” Biden told reporters when asked about the deteriorating condition of Navalny, who is being held in a Russian penal colony. In his response to reporters, Joe Biden mentioned Navalny’s “poisoning and then hunger strike.”

The president spoke to reporters while in Wilmington, Delaware, where Biden left Washington for the weekend. As reported by Agence France-Presse, today Biden played a round of golf for the first time during his presidency at a country club near Wilmington.
