Biden called on the governor of New York to resign

US President Joe Biden said that New York Governor Andrew Cuomo should resign amid allegations of sexual harassment.

“I think he should resign,” Biden said in response to a question whether he was calling on Cuomo to resign.

He did not answer the question of whether he believes that Cuomo should be impeached if he does not voluntarily resign from office. “Let’s take it to step by step,” Biden said.

Earlier, New York Mayor Bill de Blasio, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer made a similar call.

As state Prosecutor Letitia James said earlier, the investigation showed that Cuomo had repeatedly allowed unacceptable behavior against women and sexually harassed them. According to her, we are talking about 11 women whom the governor involved “in undesirable activity for them”: kisses, hugs. Employees were afraid to report harassment out of fear, the prosecutor said. Cuomo has denied the allegations.
