On the last day of July, 38-year-old Beyoncé’s new visual album, Black Is King, will premiere on the Disney + streaming service. The pop diva was inspired to create it after writing The Lion King: The Gift, which was released last year as part of the remake of The Lion King.
The day before the release of the new album, which will be released in an unusual film format, Beyoncé posted a one and a half minute trailer on her Instagram. One of the fast-paced footage features singer Blue Ivy’s eight-year-old daughter, who recently won a prestigious music award for a song from The Lion King, performed with her mother.
The new visual album of the star as a whole is dedicated to black people and is intended to show the beauty in all its manifestations – this message is more relevant than ever against the background of recent rallies and protests in the United States caused by the death of African American George Floyd.
