The Primetime Emmys is awarded by the Academy of television arts and Sciences, founded in 1946, and is considered one of the most prestigious awards for television work. It is awarded in dozens of categories, including best drama and comedy series, best actors and Actresses in series in these genres, and best programs and entertainment shows. Music and sound design, hairstyles, makeup, editing, and lighting are noted. The fate of the award is determined by about 23 thousand members of the TV Academy.

The Golden statuette “Emmy,” executed in the form of a winged woman with a symbolic atom in her hands, represents the unity of science and art.
