Barcelona again plans to reduce salaries for players

Barcelona again invited players to reduce salaries due to the difficult financial situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic, informs Marca.

According to the Spanish edition of Marca, the leadership of the Catalan club plans to offer players a salary reduction of 70% in the last week of May and by 50% in the first two weeks of June. At the moment, players are refusing the conditions proposed by the club.

Earlier, the president of Barcelona, Josep Maria Bartomeu, was already offering players to cut salaries due to the club’s inability to reach the budget of € 1.047 billion, which was approved several months ago. The salary of the players of the Catalan club now makes up 61% of the total budget provided for by the board for the 2019-2020 season.
