Australian authorities will ban tennis players from entering until the end of the year

The start of the tennis season may be delayed due to the decision of the Australian government to keep athletes out of the country throughout December. The journalists of the Tennis Channel told about it on their Twitter.

With this option, tennis players will not have time to serve two weeks of isolation in Australia, and at best, the Asia-Pacific Region will be able to host only the Australian Open in the country, and the accompanying tournaments will be postponed to the 2022 season.

The authorities fear that the arrival of a large number of athletes will cause a new wave of coronavirus infection. It is noteworthy that in Melbourne not a single case of COVID-19 infection has been detected in the past week.

Earlier it became known that the Asia-Pacific Region plans to hold all the start tournaments of the season in the Australian state of Victoria, but the regional premier expressed doubts about this.
