AT&T in talks with Discovery about the merger

Sources of The Wall Street Journal warned that a deal has not yet been concluded and negotiations may break down.

The American multinational telecommunications company is in talks to merge the media division of WarnerMedia, which includes, in particular, the CNN TV channel and the HBO Max video streaming platform, with the Discovery media company. The Wall Street Journal, citing sources, reported this.

According to her information, an agreement can be reached as early as Monday. However, the sources cautioned that a deal has not yet been concluded and negotiations may break down. As the publication noted, there are no other details. According to the newspaper, the conclusion of the deal will strengthen the position of media companies affected by the refusal of users from cable and satellite television and due to competition with streaming services.
