At the World Vaccine Congress, the best coronavirus vaccine was chosen

The Moderna vaccine was recognized as the best drug. Russia’s Sputnik V was also shortlisted.

The drug of the American company Moderna was recognized as the world’s best vaccine against COVID-19 at the regular World Vaccine Congress 2021 Washington, which took place on Wednesday due to the pandemic in the video link mode.

At the forum, which was held annually in Washington before the spread of the infection, the drug Moderna won in the category “Best COVID Vaccine.” According to the website of the congress, the vaccine developed by the American company Pfizer together with its German partner BioNTech “received a very high rating.” The shortlist of the nomination includes Sputnik V, as well as a drug developed by the British-Swedish company AstraZeneca in cooperation with the University of Oxford.

Moderna also took the award for “Best New Technology / Platform for a Vaccine.” BioNTech also “received a very high rating” in this category.

For many years, the World Vaccine Congress has hosted conferences with international experts and scientists involved in the development and distribution of these medicines.
