ASUS Zenfone 8 Mini will receive an OLED display at 120 Hz and Snapdragon 888

Last month, the network reported that ASUS is working on a compact flagship smartphone that will compete with the iPhone 12 mini. Thanks to ROG Phone 5, some details about the new product have become known.

One of the members of the XDA Developers forum delved into the kernel code of the device and found there information about a model with the code name SAKE. The novelty, according to the leak, should receive the top-end Snapdragon 888 processor. In addition, the smartphone can be equipped with a 5.92-inch OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a dual camera with 64 MP Sony IMX686 and Sony IMX663 sensors. Presumably, the device will hit the market under the name ASUS Zenfone 8 Mini.

In addition to SAKE, the ROG Phone 5 kernel code also mentions the PICASSO and VODKA smartphones. According to rumors, these could be the ZenFone 8 and ZenFone 8 Flip models, respectively. The devices will also work on the Snapdragon 888 chip, but at the same time they will receive more cameras and OLED screens with a larger diagonal. When the announcement of the three new products will take place is still unknown.
