Discussing Film managed to confirm rumours about the production dates of the second part of Aquaman. According to published information, work on the sequel to the adventure thriller about the King of the Seven Seas will start in June this year in the UK. The original 2018 film was filmed in its entirety at a massive Australian studio complex located on the Gold Coast.
The sequel will be tentatively titled Necros. Usually, such signs mean nothing, but in this case, it directly refers to the extremely gloomy and unstable underwater city from DC comics, which was under the control of a tyrant king named Mongo. Last summer at the DC FanDome convention, director James Wang promised to reflect some relevant topics in the second part’s plot and make the picture a little darker, so Nekrus still fits perfectly into this plan.
The author of the original Warner Bros. blockbuster is responsible for developing the script for “Aquaman 2”. David Leslie Johnson. Jason Momoa (Arthur Curry), Patrick Wilson (Orme), Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Black Manta) and, despite rumours of recast, Amber Heard (Mera) will definitely return to familiar roles.
The premiere of the sequel is scheduled for December 15, 2022.
