Apple announced new features for AirPods and AirPods Pro at WWDC 2020 in June and has now finally released a firmware update.
The update received the build number 3A283 and is still working on devices with the beta version of iOS 14 / iPadOS 14. The main software change is the ability to quickly switch between paired gadgets. The function works very simply. If you are watching a movie on iPad and they call you on iPhone, then the headphones will automatically connect to the phone and then back to the tablet.

Another interesting change is the Spatial Audio feature, which is unfortunately only available to AirPods Pro owners. It creates a directional surround sound. Users note that the technology works when watching movies on Apple TV+.
