Apple is working on a lighter, thinner version of the MacBook Air

The new laptop may be released in the second half of 2021 or 2022.

Apple is developing a lighter and thinner version of the MacBook Air laptop. This was reported on Friday by Bloomberg, citing sources.

According to them, the new laptop may be released in the second half of 2021 or 2022. It will feature MagSafe wireless charging technology, as well as a next-generation processor. It is planned to make the device more compact by reducing the frames around the 13-inch display.

The new model will be equipped with two USB 4 ports. It is noted that the usual version of the MacBook Air will remain on sale, while the updated model will be more expensive.

As noted by the interlocutors of Bloomberg, Apple is also considering the possibility of creating a larger MacBook Air with a 15-inch screen, but this will not be implemented shortly and not in the next product line. Representatives of the manufacturer refused to comment on this information to the agency.

According to Bloomberg, the company is also preparing to update a number of its computers, including the MacBook Pro. In particular, it will return the SD card slot.
