Apple introduced HomePod mini – a compact speaker for the home with a voice assistant Siri.
The design traces the original HomePod, but the shape has changed a lot and became more like a flower pot. Above is a touchscreen display for launching Siri and controlling playback.
Two passive radiators and one driver are responsible for the sound. But the processor from Apple Watch is Apple S5. Multiple HomePod minis can be stereo-paired.
The column has a U1 chip. It detects that your iPhone is nearby and also allows you to quickly transfer sound from your headphones, for example, to a speaker.
You can ask the voice assistant to turn on the music, control the smart home, and ask what you have on your calendar.
If you have multiple HomePods in your home, you can now send voice messages from one to another, as well as to other devices with Siri.
The speaker will be available in white and black for $99. Sales start on November 16, pre-order starts on November 6.
