Apple develops a set-top box with a video camera and voice recognition

According to Bloomberg, the device is still at an early development stage; its concept may change.

Apple is developing a device that will combine the Apple TV set-top box and voice recognition and video camera functions. This was reported on Monday by the business news agency Bloomberg.

The device is still at an early stage of development; its concept may change. It is assumed that the new product will combine the capabilities of a TV set-top box, a “smart” speaker that allows you to play music and use the voice assistant Siri, as well as a camera for video calls.

As the agency notes, such a gadget can become the most advanced system of a “smart” home after its appearance on the market. Currently, Apple’s share in the category of set-top boxes with streaming video playback is only 2%, and the HomePod smart speakers in its category are less than 10%.
