Apple introduced the iMac in a new design and a bunch of colors. Monoblocks are somewhat reminiscent of Pro Display XDR, but completely different.
Judging by the photos, the monoblocks will be very thin – all thanks to the M1, which needs less space. The total volume has decreased by 50%. The 2021 iMac will be available in seven colors, and all of the bezels will be white. It is very unusual and will definitely take some getting used to.
The 21.5-inch iMac has been replaced by the 24-inch. Supports True Tone, P3 gamut, 500 nits brightness. 4.5K resolution.
The company said it had seriously upgraded the front-facing camera and speakers. The camera shoots in 1080p, and the sound is recorded by three “studio” microphones, so that all your working calls become a little better.
When it comes to sound, the iMac has six speakers inside for clear, powerful sound. Dolby Atmos support is declared.
There are four USB Type-C connectors on the case, two of which are Thunderbolt 3. The wire has changed: the power is removed (probably, they simply could not fit it into such a thin case), a wire with a fabric braid and a magnetic mount, and the adapter itself has an Ethernet port …
New accessories: keyboard, mouse and trackpad in the color of the candy bar. The keyboard now has a Touch ID fingerprint scanner and additional device and system control keys.
The updated iMac will go on sale on April 30th. The price tag for the base version with 256GB of memory, 7 graphics cores and two Thunderbolt ports, and a keyboard without Touch ID is $ 1299. Only four colors.
A seven-color version with 8 graphics cores, four ports (two Thunderbolt 3) and 256GB of storage (8GB of RAM) + cool keyboard with Touch ID – $1499.
