Appeared photos of the new helicopter of the US President

Appeared photos of the new helicopter for US President Sikorsky VH-92 – for the first time, test shots of a machine when landing on the lawn in front of the White House are shown.

According to The Drive portal, this is not only a routine operation necessary for regular trips of the president and his entourage, but also part of an anti-crisis plan to ensure the safety of top state officials. In the case of any force majeure, Marine One helicopters (that called any aircraft of the US Marine Corps used to transport the president) need to urgently arrive at the White House and evacuate the head of state.

VH-92A is based on the Sikorsky S-92 transport helicopter, 23 new machines are designed to replace the outdated fleet of 11 VH-3D and 8 VH-60Ns. It is expected that the first helicopters will enter service in 2019 after completion of the tests. Details about their technical specifications are not disclosed. At the same time, it is known that the developers are struggling hard at the problem of how to minimize the impact of a helicopter on the lawn in front of the White House. Under the weight of a heavy machine, the ground is deformed, and the strong wind from the blades harms the grass and other plants. However, how to avoid this, the designers have not yet come up with.
