Antony Blinken congratulates the people of Cuba on Independence Day

The Secretary of State stressed the US intention to support the Cubans in their quest to determine their own future.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken made a statement on Cuba’s Independence Day.

“On Cuba’s Independence Day, we recognize the strength and diversity of the Cuban people and their great contribution to the development of the world,” Blinken said, noting the strong ties between the two peoples.

“The United States stands by you and seeks to support you in your quest for freedom, prosperity, and dignity,” the Secretary of State said. – We are aware of the problems that many of you face in your daily life. We recognize your important contribution to the global debate, and we strive to hear and amplify your voices so that you can realize opportunities and solve problems.” “The United States reaffirms its commitment to support the Cuban people in their quest to determine their own future,” he added. – We will support those who improve the lives of families and workers, private entrepreneurs who have paved their own economic path, and all those who are building a better future in Cuba.”
