Anthony Hopkins missed his own award because he was drawing

Hollywood actor Anthony Hopkins was awarded the BAFTA Award for Best Actor. However, the actor missed his award, which was held online due to the coronavirus.

As it turned out, Hopkins was completely fascinated by his new hobby: he painted a picture while staying at a hotel in Wales. He also admitted that he did not even know that he received the award: the award was told to him by relatives who closely followed the awards ceremony.

“For me, this is a fun and enjoyable bonus. I wish victory to the rest of the nominees, well, and congratulations to the winners. I am completely amazed at what happened. I was sitting here and drawing, and then I heard loud applause in the neighbourhood. At first, I thought it was a football match, ” the actor admitted.

Note that the actor received the award for his work in the film “Father” by the French director Florian Zeller. The film tells about ageing, disease, and attempts to cope with them and touches on fathers and children’s theme. Hopkins became the oldest actor to receive a BAFTA award for Best Actor.
