In August, Angelina Jolie filed a motion with the Los Angeles Superior Court to dismiss private judge John Oderkirk, who is handling her divorce from Brad Pitt.
The actress stated that John has a business relationship with one of Brad’s lawyers and did not disclose this information on time. Angelina’s petition said that the actor’s lawyer “actively advocated for the financial interests of Judge Oderkirk.” It was recently revealed that Jolie’s petition was rejected and Judge Oderkirk will remain in the case.
The court ruling says that Oderkirk did not hide information about the cases with Pitt’s lawyers. It is alleged that Angelina was informed about Oderkirk’s working connections and she could have demanded his removal earlier, and now her actions look untimely.
Back in the summer, an insider predicted a “war” between Pitt and Jolie over her attempt to remove the judge. Brad and his team really fought back: they accused the actress of deliberately trying to delay the divorce proceedings. However, Angelina claims that she wanted “a fair trial without privileges for both parties.”
Pitt and his lawyers are seriously worried that his and Jolie’s protracted trial will negatively affect their children, whose custody issue has not yet been resolved.
