Three-time Grand Slam winner Andy Murray, who withdrew from the Cologne tournament two weeks ago with a psoas injury, decided to skip the rest of the season. According to Tennis 365, the ex-first racket of the world will not perform at the Sofia Open, which will be held from November 7 to 14 in Bulgaria, because he will focus on preparing for the performance in 2021.
The 33-year-old is training at the British National Tennis Center in London. Murray hopes to be able to get in shape and keep up with next year’s tight schedule. The first tournament in which the Briton wants to take part will be the Australian Open, starting on January 20. However, Murray will fly to Melbourne in mid-December to have time to train after a two-week quarantine, which may become a mandatory norm for all competitors.
Earlier it was reported that Murray decided to skip the Masters in Paris, which runs from November 2-8.
