An earthquake of magnitude 6.9 occurred off the coast of the U.S. state of Alaska, according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).

The earthquake was recorded at 11.57 UTC. The epicenter of the tremors was located 117 kilometers southeast of the small village of Perryville. The hearth lay at a depth of 21 kilometers.

There was no information about casualties and destruction. No tsunami threat was announced.
