An earthquake has occurred off the coast of Alaska

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 occurred in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Alaska, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS).

The tremors were recorded on Monday at 19.34 UTC in 26 kilometers south of the city of Sand Point. The hearth was located at a depth of 44 kilometers.

No casualties were reported. The threat of a tsunami has not been announced.
