US startup Kernel has created a headset for reading minds for $50,000.
The new development can see and record brain activity. The innovation of the technology lies in the fact that previously the equipment of detailed functionality could occupy the area of an entire room and cost millions of dollars.
The startup has made this technology more accessible to ordinary users. In addition, the developer is ready to provide his gadget for research to scientific teams at no cost.
Scientists said that the first of two brain monitoring devices monitors its electromagnetic activity (this device is called – which is called “Flux”). And the second – “Flow” – measures the movement of blood by pulsing light in the brain.
The reading helmet “is capable of reading neuronal activity indicators in real-time and with high accuracy to determine the patterns of brain activity” using lasers. The user only needs to put the helmet on his head and connect the device via the USB Type-C cable to the computer.
The device will go on sale at a price of $ 50 thousand.
