American meteorologists warned about the strengthening of the storm Nicholas

Formed in the Gulf of Mexico, tropical storm Nicholas has strengthened to a category one hurricane and is approaching the US state of Texas, according to the U.S. National Hurricane Tracking Center (NHC).

It is noted that the disaster may affect parts of the state of Louisiana in the coming days.

According to forecasters, the maximum wind speed reaches 120 kilometers per hour. The hurricane is moving at a speed of 16 kilometers per hour.

A tropical storm is named when the speed of the accompanying wind reaches 62 kilometers per hour. A storm becomes a hurricane when the wind speed exceeds 119 kilometers per hour.
