American gynecologists recommended that pregnant women get vaccinated against COVID-19

Professional organizations of doctors in the field of obstetrics and gynecology in the United States recommended that all pregnant women be vaccinated against COVID-19.

In a joint statement, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the Society of Perinatal Medicine indicate that observations of tens of thousands of pregnant women who received the vaccine demonstrated the safety of the drug for expectant mothers.

Doctors declare a special danger of coronavirus infection for pregnant women, who, according to them, it threatens with severe complications and even death. At the same time, only 22% of pregnant women have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in the United States.

“I strongly recommend vaccination during pregnancy; both national organizations emphasize their concern about the significant increase in cases of COVID-19 due to the delta strain, “the statement said.

Previously, both organizations did not directly support the vaccination of pregnant women, although they did not object to it.
