American beach volleyball players won Olympic gold

American women April Ross and Alix Klineman won gold at the Olympic Games in Tokyo in women’s beach volleyball.

In the final, Ross and Klineman defeated the Australian pair Mariafe Artacho del Solar/Toliqua Clancy with 21: 15, 21:16; the bronze was previously won by Swiss women Joana Heidrich and Anouk Verge-Depre.

For the US team, this is the 30th gold award at the 2020 Olympics. The American team takes second place in the medal standings of the Games (30 gold, 35 silver, 27 bronze), second only to the Chinese team (34, 24, 16). The Russian national team (16, 22, 20) is fifth.
