Amazon once again overtook Microsoft in capitalization and became the most expensive company in the world

The American company Amazon once again overtook Microsoft in terms of market capitalization, becoming the most expensive company in the world. On Tuesday Bloomberg Agency reports.

The capitalization of Amazon amounted to $ 797 billion with an increase in shares by 3.4%, and Microsoft Corporation — $ 789 billion with an increase in shares by 0.1%. The third place in capitalization is occupied by holding Alphabet, which includes Google Corporation with a market value of $ 745 billion, the fourth-Apple with a result of $ 702 billion.

On January 2, Apple released data for the first fiscal quarter, which expired at the end of last year. Forecast revenues for this period were reduced from $ 89-93 billion to $ 84 billion This circumstance provoked a sharp decline of 7.7% of the shares of the company on the stock exchange. As a result, the market capitalization of Apple fell below $ 700 billion. In August last year, the market capitalization of the company exceeded $ 1 trillion, but then fell and as of mid-December 2017 slightly exceeded $ 800 billion.

Amazon was first ahead of Microsoft in terms of market value in February 2018, the second time it managed to do so in December. Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos tops the Forbes magazine’s ranking of the richest people in the world. Microsoft founder Bill Gates takes the second place in it.
