Amazon had to apologize for denying bottle-peeing employees

The American company Amazon has apologized to Rep. Mark Pocan for ridiculing his report about the poor working conditions of its employees. The corresponding press release is published on the company’s website.

Amazon had to admit that the first negative reaction to information about serious issues was “an end in itself.” The tweeters did not take all the circumstances into account.

Pokan said on Twitter that employees of the company have to relieve themselves while working in water bottles, otherwise they will not meet the schedule. In response, an Amazon representative asked, “You don’t really believe this bottle-writing story, do you?”

As stated in the press release, the company did not think about the large staff of drivers at that time. It was only about working conditions in order processing centres. They have dozens of toilets where employees can go away at any time. Amazon has encouraged all employees who face different work conditions to report it to their boss.

At the same time, the company indicated that they are aware of their drivers’ difficulties with visiting toilets. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, many public institutions are closed, and there is nowhere for employees to relieve themselves. Amazon notes that the problem affects all drivers in the industry, and the company would like to find a way to solve it but does not yet know-how.

Earlier it was reported about the confrontation between Amazon, Jeff Bezos, and the company’s employees who want to create a union. Experts note that the upcoming vote may become one of the most significant events in decades in trade union activity.
