AirCar plane flew from one city to another for the first time

The AirCar flying car made its first intercity flight: it flew from the airport in Nitra to the airport in Bratislava.

The car was driven by its creator, Stefan Klein: the flight took 35 minutes. The car arrived in Bratislava from the runway.

AirCar transforms from car to plane in two minutes 15 seconds, after which it can take off from a small runway with two people on board. As Klein explains, his development can fly almost a thousand kilometers at an average speed of 170 km/h at an altitude of up to 2.5 km.

The company intends to occupy at least a part of the global market for small private jets and air taxis. In the United States alone, up to 40,000 such devices can be ordered annually.

Klein has been developing the flying car for 20 years. His model has flown over 140 test flights. The prototype now uses gasoline rather than electric motors. AirCar drivers will need both a pilot’s license and a regular driver’s license.
