Air taxi Lilium made its first full flight

The German company Lilium conducted tests of its air taxi, in which the flying machine made its first full flight. The company said this on its YouTube channel.

As part of the tests, the flying taxi was able to take to the air, fly a few kilometers, and then successfully land at the right point. Air taxi made a full flight for the first time. Before it could only take off.

While in the air, the flying taxi was able to accelerate to 100 kilometers per hour. Now, this is the maximum speed that it can develop. Lilium said that the speed of 100 kilometers per hour is not the limit. In the future, the air taxi will be able to accelerate to 300 kilometers per hour.

This speed can be achieved because of the device gradually moves from vertical acceleration to horizontal. This possibility is provided by 36 movable screws, which work with the help of electricity. Thanks to this system, the air taxi does not need a large band for acceleration and takeoff. This function gives it a serious advantage over the existing air transport.

It is planned that the cabin of the air taxi can comfortably accommodate up to five people.
