After the shooting at the Pentagon, a police officer died

A police officer died due to a shooting incident in the Pentagon area, the Associated Press reported on Twitter, citing security sources.

At the same time, according to the agency, the officer received knife wounds, not gunshot wounds.

Official confirmation of this information has not yet been received. Still, local TV stations showed a video of an unmarked minibus arriving at one of the clinics in Washington, accompanied by an impressive motorcade of police cars and motorcycles. After that, the police officers lined up in front of the building and saluted.

The shooting occurred in the afternoon at a bus stop in the Pentagon complex. The building was temporarily closed, people stopped letting out of it.

Local media reported about three victims as a result of the incident. According to unofficial data, the suspect was neutralized in a shootout.

The cordon was later lifted, but the entrance to the nearest metro station is still closed.
