Afghanistan has become the worst U.S. failure in decades

Afghanistan has become the worst failure of U.S. foreign policy in recent decades. The current administration understands this, says a former member of the Iowa House of Representatives, Ed Fallon.

As Fallon told, U.S. President Joe Biden understands that Afghanistan is not called a “graveyard of empires” for nothing, meaning that the states that come there get bogged down in long-term conflicts. Fallon believes that the current administration will not go beyond the announced goal of sending several battalions to Kabul to reduce the presence of American diplomatic personnel.

“He (Biden) understands that of all the fiascos of U.S. foreign policy in recent decades, Afghanistan is the worst,” Fallon stressed.

He believes that the further development of events in Afghanistan depends on whether the Taliban will adhere to a moderate approach or return to a hard line when women were punished for going out without a relative, and men – for not having long enough beards.
