British actor David Thewlis, known for his role as a werewolf teacher Remus Lupine in the Harry Potter films, confirmed that he starred in the second part of James Cameron’s blockbuster Avatar, Total Film reports. The actor said:
I am a representative of the blue Na’vi race. When I went to meet Cameron, I did not quite understand what I had to do. I was very surprised when I was offered this role. It’s very interesting to see how it all will look in the end, as the creators of the film make the characters look like those who play them.
Thewlis noted that he does not know what the scenes in the finished film will look like in the filming of which he has already managed to take part. “In the room where we worked, there were about 16 guys with video cameras, but they just made drafts. What these guys filmed will never hit the screen, since 200 special sensors and sensors do the main shootings, ”said the actor. Tulis emphasized that on the set of Avatar 2 he felt like a beginner – despite 35 years of experience in the cinema. Before that, he had done nothing of the kind.
Avatar was released in 2009. The picture, which took place in the distant future, received three Oscars and two Golden Globes. In addition to Thewlis, Sigourney Weaver, Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Kate Winslet, and others are involved in the continuation of the story. A total of five franchise films are planned. The release of Avatar 2 is scheduled for December 2021. Filming interrupted due to coronavirus should resume soon in New Zealand.
