A powerful tornado swept through the Central part of the state of Minnesota, USA, on Wednesday, July 8. One person was killed, and two others were injured. The tragic incident occurred in Otter Tail County, CBS Minnesota reports.
During the passage of the tornado, three farmsteads were damaged, and one of the houses was destroyed.
Meteorologists from the National weather service confirmed that a dangerous tornado crossed interstate 94, fortunately, no cars were hit.
Experts assume that the tornado belongs to the EF-3 category, with a wind speed of 218-265 km/h.
According to eyewitnesses, the tornado could be observed for about 20 minutes. On its way, there was a reservoir, the storm captured water in its funnel, leaving a wet trail on the site of destruction.
Experts from the National weather service remind that when you see a tornado, you should get to a safe shelter indoors as quickly as possible or go down by car to the lowlands and wait out the elements.
Another tornado struck on Wednesday, in the County of Crow Wing, Minnesota. Damage is being assessed at the scene, with no injuries reported.
