A thinner Kim Jong-Un appeared at a military parade

North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un appeared at a military parade held in Pyongyang on the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the founding of the DPRK. This is reported by the South Korean agency “Yonhap.”

According to the agency’s sources, the duration of the parade was about an hour, while no new samples of strategic weapons were demonstrated during it. The number of participants involved in it was also relatively small. As one of the interlocutors of Yonhap noted, apparently, the event was addressed primarily to residents and not to the international community. However, it was the first military parade held in the DPRK after the inauguration of the current U.S. President Joe Biden.

It is noted that Kim Jong-un himself did not make an official speech during the parade — instead, the secretary of the Workers ‘ Party of Korea, Ri Il-hwan, addressed the audience. At the same time, the appearance of the North Korean leader still attracted attention, including foreign media, primarily because of the changed appearance of the politician. In the photos published by the Korean Central Telegraph Agency (KCNA) from the event, Kim Jong-Un is depicted as having lost a lot of weight.

Western publications also drew attention to the fact that the leader of the DPRK changed the suit in the style of the creator of the People’s Republic of China, Mao Zedong, to a light suit in the European style with a tie. At the same time, changes in the appearance of the politician again raised suspicions that his double could be present at the parade instead of him.
