The police evacuated people from the central square of New York, Times Square, on Thursday because of a suspicious object. NBC reported this.

According to him, at about 12:30 local time, presumably, the cyclist threw a metal container at the red steps – the central part of the square. Law enforcement officers have set up a cordon from 45th to 47th streets and are working on the spot.

Currently, the center of Washington is also cordoned off due to reports that there may be a car bomb in the area of the Library of Congress of the United States. The police have already evacuated people from nearby houses and are negotiating with the car driver, who claims that the vehicle is mined. The motives of the man are still unknown; FBI officers are on the spot.
