A state of emergency will be introduced in Haiti

Haitian Prime Minister Ariel Henri said that he would declare a state of emergency in the country due to the earthquake that killed people.

“We are going to take the necessary measures to help people who were affected by the earthquake… We must show greater solidarity in relation to the emergency situation. The government will declare a state of emergency. We will act promptly,” Henri said on Twitter.

An earthquake of magnitude 7.2 occurred off the coast of Haiti on Saturday. The country’s Civil Defense department reported that the earthquake killed at least 29 people.
