Relations between the European Union and the United States have been strained in recent years, but now they “look restored,” an EU source told reporters after the G7 summit.
“The United States was back at the negotiating table and agreed on shared values and international cooperation. Relations have been strained in recent years. Now they look restored,” the source said, commenting on the G-7 summit.
The leaders of the EU institutions of power have previously expressed the hope that the arrival of US President Joe Biden instead of Donald Trump will allow to “reset” relations between the country and the union, in which under Trump there were differences on some issues, including in the field of trade and international relations.
