A rainbow flag appeared on the US Embassy in Moscow

The rainbow flag was raised on the territory of the American embassy in Moscow, according to the Instagram account of the diplomatic mission.

“Today, the US Embassy in Russia is honoring the LGBTI+ Pride flag during the celebration of PrideFlagDay,” the structure said in a comment.

The ceremony was also attended by the American Ambassador John Sullivan, who arrived in the Russian capital the day before.

The diplomats recalled that the so-called pride month “is designed to emphasize that everyone deserves to live a life free from hatred, prejudice, and persecution.” Last summer, the embassies of Britain, Canada, and the United States received notes from the Russian Foreign Ministry because of the flags of the LGBT community on the buildings of their representative offices.
